“Sabry Mansour …. Guest of honor at the third edition of Egypt Int’l Art Fair

Sabry Mansour is an Egyptian artist and a Professor of Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Cairo. Sabry holds a BA in Fine Arts, Painting Department from Helwan University (1964), a MA in Fine Arts, Painting Department from Helwan University (1972) and a Professorado in Painting from Bellas Artes In San Fernando, Madrid (1978). He is also a member of Artist’s Syndicate as well as the Administration Board, Artist’s Syndicate Committees.

Throughout his career, Sabry was awarded several art awards including Acquisition Prize at Alexandria Biennale Award (1970), First Award, Painting at General Fine Arts Exhibition (Cairo 1981), Third Award at Hafiz & Shawqi Competition (1983), The Golden Sail Award (Kuwait, 1985) and most recently, The State Merit Award in Arts (2016). In 1988, a documentary titled “Village Reminiscences” was filmed featuring Sabry’s artworks, followed by another titled “Egyptians: Rise Up!” in 1996.

Sabry has held 21 solo exhibitions between the years 1971 and 2018, both locally and internationally. He exhibited his works in Egypt at The Soviet Cultural Center (1971), Ikhnaton Gallery (1972), Faculty of Fine Arts Gallery (1979), Aida Ayoub’s Gallery (1982), and The Italian Cultural Center (1983) among many other places. His works were exhibited internationally in London, Rome, Syria, Spain and Norway. In addition to Sabry’s solo exhibitions, he also participated in numerous group exhibitions including the Faculty of Fine Arts Exhibition (Egypt, 1965), Ibiza International Biennale (Spain, 1968), Sofia International Youth Festival (Bulgaria, 1968), San Fernando’s Annual Exhibition (Madrid, 1976-1977), Contemporary Egyptian Art Exhibitions (Tunisia & Mexico, 2001) as well as others in Germany, France, Rome, and Kuwait.”
